2. Device Motion & Sensor Data
To measure angles, tilt, and level status, FreeAngleFinder requests access to your mobile device's hardware sensors via the standard browser DeviceOrientationEvent interface (gyroscope and accelerometer).
How Sensor Data is Handled:
Raw sensor signals (alpha, beta, gamma) are processed in real-time by client-side JavaScript executing solely in your browser's local sandbox memory. These readings are filtered using a local Exponential Moving Average (EMA) algorithm to render the visual bubble and display degree readouts. Under no circumstances is this sensor data recorded, logged, stored on a remote server, or shared with third parties.
On iOS devices, Safari requires an explicit user gesture (tapping "Enable Sensors") to grant orientation access. You can revoke sensor permissions at any time through your browser's site settings.
3. Audio Feedback & Microphone
When the level sound feature is enabled, an audible tone chimes when your phone reaches 0.0° level. This audio is synthesized entirely in your browser using the Web Audio API (an algorithmic tone generator).
FreeAngleFinder does not access or require your microphone, does not record any environmental sound, and has no audio capturing capabilities.
4. Cookies and Local Storage
FreeAngleFinder does not use persistent tracking cookies or advertising identifiers. We utilize standard browser localStorage solely for functional preferences:

You can clear your browser cookies and local storage at any time without degrading the core functionality of the angle measuring tool.
5. Server Logs and Network Requests
When you load FreeAngleFinder, our web servers and Content Delivery Network (CDN) automatically receive standard HTTP connection metadata transmitted by your browser. This includes:
- Browser type and version (User-Agent)
- Referring website URL
- Date, timestamp, and requested asset file
- Anonymized or truncated IP address
These logs are maintained temporarily for server diagnostics, DDoS defense, infrastructure security, and bandwidth management, and are automatically rotated.
